In celebration of Fun, Food, Friends! collection we asked some of our favourite creators to open their homes and share their magic ingredients for a carefree and fun filled time.

This week, meet Anne, a digital creator and photographer from Lille, France. A self-confessed interiors addict, Anne tells us all about her family’s favourite ways to have fun!

What does it mean to have fun for your family?

For us, having fun means bringing a little magic to everyday life. Dancing in the living room while waiting for our meal to be ready, blowing bubbles in the bath, marvelling at the flowers, inventing stories with the objects that surround us... Finally, having fun as a family is above all becoming children again!

Tell us about where you live...

We live in Lille, in a big apartment that we like very much! It’s very bright, on the top floor of a quiet building and surrounded by trees which is amazing for bird watching. It has been our cocoon for 8 years already and has seen us grow and then become a family.

How do you create a fun environment at home?

My girls each have their own room but they spend most of their time in the living room together. I installed a large play area and it allows them to maximise our apartment, a bit like a large playground!

What's your favourite way to spend a sunny day?

A coffee on the terrace, a walk in the forest or at the beach and the tase of delicious ice cream! Plus for the grownups, an aperitif with friends while we chat for hours.

Do you eat according to the seasons?

For fruits and vegetables I pay special attention to it and I try to pass this awareness on to my daughters. It is really important to me to savour each season, knowing what it offers us and enjoying those fruit and vegetables at their very best whilst respecting our planet too.

 

Where do you most enjoy spending time together?

When we’re not around the table, we love a nice day at the beach. Our perfect day is a walk, delicious picnic, dip our feet in the water and then build sand castles all day long!

Do your kids have favourite activities or games they enjoy playing with their friends?

Right now my daughters and their friends only need their imagination to play and it's beautiful to see! They keep busy in nature, collecting things like a piece of wood, a flower, a ribbon... And then they are ready to invent lots of fantastic stories together with their little friends.

Where was your last trip?

We just returned from a week in the South of France, in the Camargue. We wanted sunshine, calm and above all, to be surrounded by nature so it was the ideal destination for us. It is impossible to go to the Camargue without crossing beautiful white horses, typical of the region! A very beautiful memory for the girls who were mesmerised and loved stroking and feeding them.
