Steps to Sustainability

Organic Zoo believes in a simpler, kinder world for our children to enjoy and inherit, creating timeless 100% organic clothing that’s better for our little ones and better for the planet.

We recognise that making and selling clothing has an impact. Our aspiration is to encourage our customers to make more conscious purchasing choices.

We are committed to running a business that cares for our planet. We know that supporting the environment is important to our customers too. We are always looking for ways to improve what we do and we want to share with you the steps we’ve taken, and continue to take, to ensure our business is as sustainable as possible.

STEP ONE

Always Organic.

It was the reason we started our business.

10 years on, being organic is still at the heart of everything we do.

Our organic raw cotton comes from certified fair trade suppliers.

This means that:

  • the fibres are grown without nasty chemicals & using less precious water
  • the cotton farmers get a fairer price for their crop
  • the materials are softer and gentler for your baby’s skin

Organic cotton is better for you, better for your little one, and better for the planet.

STEP TWO

Timeless Designs.

Organic Zoo designs are minimal, comfortable and high-quality. They are beautiful to wear and practical for play.

Each collection features timeless essential pieces, rather than fast fashion trends. We are proud that 10 years on some of our original designs are still bestsellers.

Our clothing is unisex and well-made so that it’s outgrown, not worn out. We want our clothes to be handed on and enjoyed by other little ones.

STEP THREE

Well Made.

Organic Zoo clothes are made in an ethical way, with sustainability considered at every stage of the production process. All our materials are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified.

Our clothes are designed in Brighton, in the UK and made in Europe.

We have high standards and we expect the same from our partners.  Our factory was chosen with care and we visited numerous premises before finding the right one.  Our suppliers share Organic Zoo’s core values, working sustainably, supporting their employees and investing in the local communities.

We are reducing waste at every stage and are pleased to say that our partner factory is using leftover fabric for mattress filling. Our packaging is also kept to the bare minimum, with recycled paper labels and mailing bags.

It takes effort, time and money to produce clothes this way, but we believe it’s worth it.

For our children, for their future.

STEP FOUR

 Living Simply.

We don’t just work this way, we aspire to live this way too. The principle of simplicity is woven into our daily lives. We believe that a more sustainable way of living, benefits us all, with a focus on experiences over things.

Organic Zoo wants to be part of creating a simpler, kinder world for everyone.

STEP FIVE
